Coaching since: 2017

Training/Education: University of Western Ontario, BA' 2010 Centennial College, workplace wellness and health promotion certificate, 2011

NCCP Level Certification: CanSkate Certified, Regional Coach Certified

Coaching Objective: To leverage my knowledge, passion, and experience in figure skating to inspire and guide aspiring athletes in achieving their full potential. I am committed to fostering a positive and supportive training environment that promotes skill development, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the artistry of figure skating. My goal is to contribute to the growth and success of each skater under my guidance, helping them excel in both technical proficiency and artistic expression while instilling a lifelong love for the sport. I am dedicated to creating well-rounded and confident athletes who not only achieve excellence on the ice but also develop valuable life skills through their journey in figure skating.

Skating Background: Throughout my almost 30 years on the ice, I have competed in Singles, Dance Pairs and Synchronized Skating. I trained at both the Zurich and Exeter Skating clubs under the direction of Marcy Walker, Kathy McLlwain, Jeff Loosely and Marnie Smith. In 2015 I returned to BZSC as a board member and on ice volunteer, when I decided it was time to get my certification to promote skating in our Local area.

Accomplishments: In Dance Pairs I competed in Pre-Juvenile at the Provincial Championships bringing home a Bronze Medal. I competed at the National Synchronized Skating Championships, where my team finished in the top 10. Some years of my skating career were more competitive than others but the constant love for the sport remained. I am a triple Gold Test Level skater.

Coaching Since: 2022

Training/Education: University of Waterloo, ON BScKin, Registered Kinesiologist

NCCP Level Certification: CanSkate Certified, Regional Coach Certified

Coaching Objective: My goal as a coach is to inspire those who come onto the ice. I hope to foster a love of skating to the next generation of skaters. I am committed in providing a safe space for those looking to express themselves through the art of skating. I am approachable and dedicated to providing these skaters with the skills that they require both on and off the ice. My profession as a Registered Kinesiologist puts me in a unique position to ensure these skaters are able to practice in a manner which will foster good habits and decrease possible injuries due to mechanics and strength.

Skating Background: I have been skating with the Bluewater Zurich Skating Club for close to 20 years. I started in the CanSkate program, working my way up and competing in Singles for the club until I left for University. I also completed in Synchronized Skating for the Exeter club. I trained under the direction of Melissa Hendrix, Patty Dougherty, and Kathy McLIwain. In 2022, I returned to BZSC as a CanSkate Coach all while I worked through my Regional Coaching Certification. I grew up within this club and am extremely happy to be able to return and teach the next generation of skaters.
